Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course Home of the Floating Green
The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene in North Idaho. Opening in 1991, to unprecedented reviews and awards, the Coeur d’Alene established itself as a premier destination golf course ranking as the #2 resort golf course in the nation, second only to Pebble Beach, while holding the #1 ranking in the category of “Beauty and Esthetics”.
“Coeur d’Alene is what every resort should be. It’s not just upscale, it’s posh. You aren’t just pampered here, you’re spoiled. It’s not just an escape, it’s an experience.” - Golf Digest
The Coeur d’Alene Resort has been christened “America’s Greatest Golf Experience” based on amenities both seen and unseen, that golfers enjoy at this Northwest Gem.
Designer Scott Miller’s vision was to create a golf course that offered a stimulating round of golf, surrounded by a park-like environment. The result is fairways that play from tee to green on a lush carpet of Bent Grass, beds of brilliant red Geraniums, acres of Junipers and the mountain water challenges of Lake Coeur d’Alene and Fernan Creek. The 6,767 yard, par 71 course is designed around four distinct geographic features: an expansive lakeshore, a forested ridge, gently rolling woodlands and Fernan Creek, a revitalized trout stream. Chip Beck, PGA Tour Player and winner of the 1992 Merrill Lynch Shootout at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, called the Idaho course one of the finest he has ever seen, lauding it as a course playable for families, yet challenging enough to test the pros.
What you can expect…

Golfers are transported from the Resort to the Golf Course via a handcrafted mahogany water shuttle. Our Golf Guests are greeted at the golf course dock by their forecaddie for the day. The next four holes are some of the most breathtaking you will ever visit, as the anticipation builds towards the world renowned 14th hole, the par 3 floating movable island green. Don’t be intimidated as the 15,000 sq. ft. putting surface off the lakeshore awaits your challenge. Confidence is your key to success. The Flamingo and Mustang Golf courses at Lely Resort
No community in Southwest Florida can match Lely Resort’s 54 holes of championship golf, designed by some of the best in the game. Robert Trent Jones Sr., the world’s most prolific golf architect, designed the Flamingo Island Golf Course. Golf Week has twice designated the course as one of “America’s Best,” while Golf Digest gives it four stars. The Mustang Golf Club Course reflects the character of its creator, PGA Senior Tour star Lee Trevino/Wm. Graves, a serious but fun par-72 course where one can recover from a bad shot but still find a challenge.
Both the Flamingo and Mustang courses are open to the public. The Classics at Lely Resort Golf & Country Club was designed by Gary Player, one of the game’s only four grand slam winners. It combines the beauty of the surroundings with holes that are both friendly and challenging, the Classics is a private member only course.

Good Time Golf visits Puerto Vallarta Mexico

February 21st, 2009 · No Comments

The GTG team visits stunning Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a unique golf experience. They visit the Vista Vallarta Club de Golf and challenge the local pro; their team vs. him in a game of best ball. Afterwards, they get in some local entertainment on a zip line down a mountain, rappelling down a waterfall and swimming with dolphins. They visit the The Marina Vallarta Club de Golf. Get a Zip Tip which talks about whether you benefit from leaving the pin in when off the green; do pros pull it or leave it? They stay at the Casa Magna Marriott Resort overlooking the ocean and beautiful landscaping.

Vista Vallarta Club de Golf
With over three million visitors each year, Puerto Vallarta has long been the gem of the Mexican Pacific resort coastline. Its legendary beauty, grand sunsets, spectacular Banderas Bay, views of the Pacific Ocean, regal Sierra Madre mountain ranges, friendly people, water sports, ecological treasures, art history, culture, gourmet cuisine, and now world-class golf have made this lush tropical location Mexico’s destination of choice for vacationers from around the world.

Ancient ruins fascinate the historian. Recently, archaeological remnants of an ancient ball game played by the Indians of the Aztatlan culture were found along the Mexican Pacific coastline. Could it be that even centuries ago the inhabitants of western Mexico were golfers?

Spread across 478 acres, the Vista Vallarta Club de Golf encompasses two 18-hole, par 72 championship golf courses: the first is a Signature Golf Course Design by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, and the neighboring course is a Signature Course Design by golf great Tom Weiskopf. Opened in April, 2001, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is located on the property’s highest elevation, offering breathtaking views of Puerto Vallarta, the Marina and the Banderas Bay, arguably the best sheltered marina in Mexico. Grassy hillsides, dense forest of palm, giant ficus trees and natural creeks provide the setting for this worldclass course.

Opened in November, 2001, the Tom Weiskopf Signature Course offers a dramatic contrast from the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Located on the west-end of the Vallarta Vista property, the golf course is built on extreme terrain with dense jungles, deep ravines and swift creeks. The course plays through towering forests of palms and Papillae trees and across deep natural ravines and swift creeks that are characteristic of the properties lowest elevations. Weiskopf has done a masterful job of blending the elevations and natural features to create the ultimate golf experience. The holes are designed to suit every level of golfer on both courses, from amateurs to professionals.

The Club’s services include complete practice facilities, and luxurious clubhouse with restaurant, bar and lounge, verandas, fully stocked golf shop, and on-course beverage service.

In addition to hosting the 2002 World Golf Championships EMC2 World Cup, Vista Vallarta’s championship courses have drawn major golf tournaments to the region including the Ford U.S. Collegiate Golf Championships which took place April 4-8, 2001 and was televised on ESPN, again in 2002, and will return in 2003; the Taylor-Made Invitational was held in November, 2001 and returned to this area; the Puerto Vallarta Pro Am was held December, 2001 and in 2002; and the International Foundation for Junior Golf World Junior Golf Championships were played in August 2001. Nicole Perrot from Santiago, Chile, the reigning USGA Junior Girls Champion and runner up in the USGA Women’s Tournament, birdied two of the last three holes to overcome Sarah-Jane Kenyon from Queensland, Australia to win the championship.

Vista Vallarta Club de Golf is the focal point of a premier master-planned development that will include world-class hotels, spa, residences and time share properties.

Vista Vallarta Club de Golf, Marina Vallarta Club de Golf, Cozumel Country Club and Pok-Ta-Pok Club de Golf are owned and/or operated by ClubCorp International. Founded in 1957, Dallas-based ClubCorp has $1.7 billion in assets and is the world’s leader in delivering golf, private club and resort experiences. Internationally, the privately held company owns or operates hundreds of premier golf courses, country clubs, private business and sports clubs, and golf resorts stretching from the United States to Australia, Asia, and Europe.

In addition to Vista Vallarta Club de Golf, ClubCorp owns and operates Marina Vallarta Club de Golf featuring an exclusive, 18-hole, Par 71, 6,700-yard Joe Finger designed championship course located in the fashionable Marina Vallarta district of Puerto Vallarta, and the newly opened Cozumel Country Club on the island of Cozumel, an 18-hole, 6,734 yard, par 72 golf course designed by Steve Nicklaus of the Nicklaus Design Group. ClubCorp operates Pok-Ta-Pok Club de Golf located 20 miles from Cancun International Airport, nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte Lagoon. Designed by award-winning designed Robert Trent Jones, Jr., this championship 18 hole, 6,602-yard, par 72, golf course artistically incorporates ancient Mayan ruins with hundreds of meters of beautiful shoreline.

The Marina Vallarta Club de Golf
with 18 championship holes was designed by the American architect Joe Finger. Its magnificent view of Banderas Bay and the natural obstacles such as palms, tropical plants, and natural lagoons along with abundant wildlife including crocodiles, have made it increasingly popular.
